Jinna K Russell, M.S., L.P.C.
I have always been amazed at the human spirit and how it responds to life experiences with wonder and resiliency.
My approach in counseling utilizes whatever speaks to the individual I am sharing space with whether that is a specific philosophy, theory, cognitive reasoning, existential exploration or a combination thereof.
I am down to earth, interactive and very positive in my approach. I also feel it's important for one to have a deeper understanding of how their life experiences has brought them to their unique perspective of their world and what direction they want to pursue to feel more empowered and confident.
I have many years of experience and a multitude of strategies and modalities to help the individual that I am working to utilize. I am believer in the world around us providing many healing strategies for us to work with in an effective manner.
I am a long time advocate of animals and nature. I feel they can teach us many useful ways to look at life, move through it with grace and ease and continue to find the wonder life consistently offers us.
Comfort and ease in my office is very important, not only for comfort in deeper self exploration but also an ease in focusing on why we are spending time together.
Therefore, I feel that it is very important for everyone to know I am very human and open. My office offers a safe place where comfort and openness come easily.
And since animals provide that ease for many I have Happy in the office with me everyday.
Happy is my graceful, gentle Great Dane who is registered with Delta Society and also certified as a Canine Good Citizen. He is unintrusive in our space and offers an immense amount of comfort and friendly feelings while one is visiting with us.
My work is an important part of my life but so is my family, my companion animals, my volunteer projects and my pursuit of learning and happiness.
I strive to approach life with a balanced sense of adventure. Sometimes, that pursuit is easier than at other times but it is a journey and I enjoy the challenge of keeping life full and rewarding.
